Professor Feng Jun, vice-president of ZUST, led a delegation to Africa and visited the National University of Zambia, the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch recently.
The National University of Zambia is the largest university in the country. During the visit, Feng’s delegation negotiated with Prof. Henry Sichingabula, vice-president of the National University of Zambia. The two sides both agreed to advance the dual degrees co-education program for computer majors, and propel mutual teachers’ communication in scientific research and their teaching in English. The ZUST delegation also visited its library, chemical laboratory, computer laboratory and Confucius Institute.
The University of Cape Town is a famous and prestigious university among the top 150 in the world. The ZUST delegation had a full discussion with vice president Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng and the director of their International Office on short-term and long-term student exchange programs as well as scientific research cooperation.
The University of Stellenbosch has a good cooperative relationship with more than 10 famous universities in China. During the visit, the two universities held a thorough discussion on the joint development of the mutual student exchange, either short-term or long-term, and scientific research cooperation. Afterwards the two sides reached an agreement. The delegation also visited the Confucius Institute built by Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and University of Stellenbosch to learn about its management.
The visit further enhanced the cooperation between ZUST and the universities in Africa, providing a solid foundation for our comprehensive cooperation with more African universities.
