Academic Honesty: We Are on the Road!

On June 13th, the Summative Conference on Academic Honesty and the Awarding Ceremony for Student Honesty Activities held a regularly scheduled meeting in the Student Activity Center on Anji campus. After a brief summary of the progress of the academic honesty initiative at Anji campus in the academic year 2015-2016, the program moved forward to the arrangements for ensuring and furthering honesty education in the future.
Prof. Zhao Dongfu, deputy secretary of ZUST Party Committee and Prof. Feng Jun, vice president of ZUST, attended the conference. It was also joined by 700 participants, including leaders from different departments and schools as well as representatives of teachers and students.
The conference began with a summary statement of the university's honesty commitment. Representatives from each college signed an Honesty Statement on the stage, which was then checked by university counselors and put into the Credit Bank by Prof. Zhao.
At the conference, Mr. Jiang Xingfei, Director of Student Affairs Office, introduced the honesty activities on Anji campus in the academic year 2015-2016. Ms. Chen Liang, director of Teaching Affairs Center, announced the award-winning classes of honesty and the winners of “Honesty is in My Heart” competition. The winners and class representatives received their prizes on the stage, and shared their own interpretations of honesty with the audience.
Prof. Feng Jun, on behalf of the school, expressed his gratification to all ZUST teachers and students for dedicating themselves to honesty education and activities. He said that ZUST had adopted a series of measures to enhance academic honesty education, striving to be the forerunner in Zhejiang province. Furthermore, he appealed to all the students to bear in mind their honesty commitments, which they should abide by throughout their university life, even throughout their entire life. Moreover, he hoped that with the experience gained from the Anji campus, the whole university of ZUST should make joint efforts to build an honest atmosphere and good study habits on Xiaoheshan campus, making academic honesty the most honorable tradition for ZUST.
During 2015-2016, various honesty education activities were carried out on Anji campus, including honesty class meetings, “Honesty is Gold” speech contest, honesty-proposing activities, “Honesty is in My Heart” competition, honesty lectures, and so on. . With all these activities, surely academic honesty will be better engraved in students’ and teachers’ hearts.
