The first overseas alumni association of our university, German Alumni Association, was established in Hanover, Germany, on Oct. 10th. Prof. Gong jianli, Secretary of ZUST CPC Party Committee, who was visiting Germany, attended the ceremony with the company of Heüveldop, vice-chancellor of Hannover University of Applied Science. Present on Bismarck campus of Hannover University of Applied Science to witness the ceremony were staff from our alumni office, the Chinese-German Institute of Engineering and the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and the director from the Hannover Foreign Affairs Office. Also present was the first batch of honorary alumni like German professors Wilfried Stiller, Franz Deckert and nearly 50 alumni representatives.
The alumni came from all over Germany. They feel that the German Alumni Association provides those who stay in Germany with a closer communication platform. Although they stay overseas, their hearts are still closely tied to the motherland and alma mater, wishing to be the bond to unite the alumni of ZUST in Germany and contribute to improving the influence of ZUST in Germany and around the world.
