Consul General of Germany in Shanghai Peter Rothen Visits ZUST

, the consul general of Germany in Shanghai, Mr. Peter Rothen, was invited to ZUST for the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-German Cooperation Pavilion. This ceremony was hosted by ZUST Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Prof. Zhou Jiamin, and attended by ZUST Secretary of Party Committee, Prof. Gong Jianli, ZUST President, Prof. Ye Gaoxiang, and Vice-president Prof. Zheng Youqu.
On behalf of ZUST, President Ye warmly welcomed Mr. Rothen. He said that during these thirty years, it has been the diligent effort of the intelligent and farseeing people in both countries, especially those in education and in the technology industry, that built the comprehensive cooperation between ZUST and 25 Germen universities. “We expect that ZUST’s cooperation with German institutes will keep developing and bear more fruits with the support of Mr. Rothen and the German consulate in Shanghai.”
In Mr. Rothen’s speech, he noted that the academic communication between ZUST and Germen universities has also contributed to the friendship between Germany and China. He pointed out that among the universities transforming from general universities to application-oriented ones in China, ZUST was not only a pioneer, but also a role model. He sincerely wished that Sino-German cooperation could be further enhanced and looked forward to even greater achievements in the coming new year.
Mr. Rothen and Prof. Gong Jianli unveil the Sino-German Cooperation Pavilion and President Ye issues the certificate of Honorary Professor to Peter Rothen.
After the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Rothen visits the Sino-German Cooperation Pavilion and the Sino-German Friendship Garden, and plants the tree of friendship with ZUST leaders.
During the visit, Mr. Rothen also interviews the students of the Germen programs and student representatives from Germany.
